Eliminating Soda Reduces Health Problems-These drinks come in a form of high fructose syrup which is detrimental to your health. Not drinking sugary beverages such as soda also offers other benefits. You’ll reduce your risk of heart attack, type 2 diabetes, and gout, according to the Harvard School of Public Health. Not drinking soda might also benefit the health of your bones, because people who drink soda are less likely to get enough calcium from their diet, and the phosphate in soda can affect bone health. Substituting sugary drinks and processed foods for water and a healthful diet might also keep your appetite in check. Sugary drinks digest quickly, which causes your blood sugar to rise soon after drinking them. Not long afterward, your blood sugar crashes, which increases your hunger levels. Avoiding sugary foods — including soda — can prevent these spikes and crashes, so that you’ll have an easier time maintaining your diet.

Soda Drastically Increases Belly Fat– consumption makes you prone to storing more body fat. Fructose in particular appears to dramatically increase the unwanted fat within your belly tissue and surrounding organs. 80% of sugar that enters into the body turns into fat and the preservative high fructose syrup is very dangerous in the body and is not easily digest.

High in Sugar! – A single can of soda contains the equivalent of 10-16 teaspoons of sugar. Four grams of sugar is equal to one teaspoon. To be precise, 4.2 grams equals a teaspoon, so if soda contain 65grams of sugar then you are right at 16 teaspoon per soda. As soda enters into the body it immediately elevates the blood sugar and causes an insulin reaction in the body.  This can definitely lead to diabetes or insulin resistance, weight gain and many other health problems. Soda manufactory companies are the largest users of sugar in the country.

Skip the Diet Soda As Well – Although diet soda may have fewer calories this is not an alternative drink. One of the things you want to get away from altogether is the taste of soda. It’s the taste alone keep you craving for more and the more you taste it the more you want it. You want to start to appreciate the healthier flavors of foods. Drinking diet soda means you’re still experiencing very sweet flavors — which makes it more difficult resist. When you avoid soda and those sugary drinks you can begin to enjoy healthy foods. Also diet sodas contain aspartame which is used as a substitute for sugar and believe it or not your diet choice is actually more harmful. It has been linked to hundreds of different health problems including seizures, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, diabetes, and emotional disorders. Diet sodas also increase the risk of metabolic syndrome, which causes belly fat, high blood sugar, and raised cholesterol.  A better alternative is water!

Soda Lack Nutrients and Cause Dehydration– There is absolutely no nutritional value in soda whatsoever. The harmful side effects are great and there are no health benefits whatsoever. Soda is an unnatural substance that harms the body.  While it may taste refreshing, because of the high sugar, sodium, and caffeine content in soda, it actually dehydrates the body. Over a long period of time this can cause chronic dehydration so it best to just have a bottle of water. effects are great and there are no health benefits whatsoever. 7 Reasons Why God Expects For Us to Be Healthy & Fit

7 Reasons Why God Expects For Us to Be Healthy & Fit

First of all what is taking care of our bodies, is it simply just grooming, certainly not. Taking care of our bodies is being healthy and fit. The bible tells us we were made in his image; God’s image is of course righteous but also healthy and perfect. Can you imagine what Adam and Eve looked like during the creation of the world? I’m sure they were defiantly in shape, healthy and fit. We must strive to keep that image by feeding our bodies the nutritional food God has desire for us. God expects this for us so we can do his will; he has a plan and purpose for each one of us and how can we fulfill his will if we are unhealthy.  Here I will provide you with 7 reasons why God expects us to be healthy and hopefully it will motivate you to care for yourself and to live healthy in the Lord. For the next 7 days we will focus on the following:

Day 1: Being Healthy Glorifies God

Day 2: You will have more energy

Day 3: You’re taking care of His Temple (Your Body)

Day 4: You will be better equipped for God’s purpose for your life

Day 5: To provide for your family

Day 6: To have a better quality of life

Day 7: Preventive Measure against Sickness & Diseases

Day 1: Being Healthy Glorifies God

1 Cor. 10:31 Teaches us that whatever you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it or glorify God. Living in good health has always been a blessing in walking with the Lord. We serve a God who cares about us in a holistic way. We are connected to Him in mind, body and soul. Jesus spent the majority his ministry healing people of all kinds of physical maladies. It brings glory to our God to live a life full of vigor and isn’t it interesting to know that His healing methods were done in a spiritual way. This means that if we change our minds about how we eat our bodies will transform in ways that we never thought was possible. God wants us to shine in all areas of our lives and our health is a major factor in our service to Him and others. The Glory of His knowledge shines through us out into the world therefore demonstrating that His word reigns supreme in every aspect of life. God has graciously given us all with a body to live in and it is our God given responsibility to take care ourselves with wisdom of his Word and the strength of His Spirit. care ourselves with wisdom of his Word and the strength of His Spirit.  Therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1Cor 1:20        . ………………………Stay tune for Day 2:

Day 2: You Will Have More Energy

Poor nutrition and inadequate calorie intake can cause fatigue. All foods supply calories for energy, but not all calories are equal. 1 Cor. 10:23 the Bible teaches us that all things that are lawful but not all things are expedient. The food industry offers a large range of food to choose from but we must choose the food that provides us with proper nutrients for our bodies. Certain foods provide more vitamins and minerals for the amount of energy they supply, so choose nutrient-dense foods to fuel your daily energy needs.  Our energy comes from the foods we eat and the liquids we drink. Your body needs food that’s rich in vitamins and nutrients to function at its best to do the will of God. The more energy you have the more you can spread the Gospel of Christ. Christ walked miles and miles to spread the Gospel; he had to be fit to engage into these activities daily. We all know that the more fit and healthy we are the more energy we will have.  The more energy that we have, the more we can put into the greatness God has place before us. ……………….Stay Tune for Day 3:

Day 3: You Are Taking Care of God’s Temple (Your Body)

Temple reconstruction starts from the ground up. Israel’s temple was destroyed on many occasions because of their continued disobedience to the Lord’s righteousness and their earthly glory was lost on many occasions. In like manner our temple (body) is destroyed and broken down over a process of time when we refuse or rebel against the goodness of God. Although we have the right to eat what we choose everything is not beneficial for the body. When we allow ourselves to be at our best we will become phenomenal. God has supplied all our needs so that we can live and function at an optimal level. Therefore taking care of your temple is the righteous, relevant and real thing to do leading to a glorious body.  1 Cor 6: 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God…………..stay tune for Day 4

Homemade lemonade: Notice I said homemade, not the packages, or pre-made powder lemonade, I’m talking about squeezing or juicing fresh lemons and only adding sugar but a better alternative to sugar is stevia. The pre-made packages are full of inflammation-inducing sugar that is not good for you at all. When making your own lemon you are only adding 2 ingredients, Wow! That’s great, now look on the back of that premade powder lemonade and count how many total ingredients are found on the back, and for an even more challenge how many can you actually pronounce? The best thing about lemonade is you can drink it with or without sugar.

Coconut water can be a great alternative to soda because it’s very refreshing and tasty. Coconut water directly from the coconut has no added sugar is best. When you add too much sugar to the water it can defeats the purpose of its healthy benefits, like the electrolytes that can help to re-hydrate and restore balance to your body. The ingredients in coconut water are way more effective at hydrating the human body than those of sports and energy drinks. During rigorous exercise or extended periods of physical activity, the human body loses mineral-rich fluids. However, coconut water serves as an excellent replacement medium with 294 mg of potassium and 5 mg of natural sugar per glass, unlike your favorite sports drink that only contains half of the potassium content and five times the amount of proc

Metabolism Is Link To Weight

Metabolism Is Link To Weight

Metabolism is converting food into energy. Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy. During this complex biochemical process, calories in food and beverages are combined with oxygen to release the energy your body needs to function.

Metabolism is linked to weight, but a slow metabolism is not the main cause for weight gain – in fact, it’s what you’re eating and drinking that causes you to gain weight or struggle with weight loss.

Physical activity can help boost your metabolism, which will help you burn calories faster, however. Metabolism isn’t the only thing that causes you to burn calories. Two other things, food processing and physical activity, also play roles in helping your body to burn calories. When you eat food, your body actually burns calories while processing it.

One of the most important things to understand when boosting your metabolism is eating metabolism boosting foods. Protein is vital for metabolism boosting; nuts are one of the best proteins out there, especially if you’re looking to boost your metabolism. Eat some almonds or walnuts as a snack, or mix them in with another protein source like a protein smoothie or lean chicken and beef. You should be eating more protein to help kick start your weight loss plan.

One of the biggest struggles that people have when trying to lose weight is boosting their metabolism which helps in the process of weight loss. Physical activity during the day is the second-largest factor determining your metabolism. Participating in any level of activity is better than being completely inactive, but if your goal is weight loss, begin by stepping up the pace by choosing the right foods and incorporating exercising in your daily routine. Understanding your metabolism is a key component to your weight loss journey.

How to Get on the Right Track to A Healthier Lifestyle

How to Get on the Right Track to A Healthier Lifestyle

In the fast paced world that we live in it can be easy to neglect our health and wellness. We’re so busy racing through our day to day lives – family, friends, work, and social engagements – that we don’t take the time to to invest in our health. It’s no wonder that so many of us are tired with low energy and run down. What are some simple things that we can do to improve our well being?

You’ve heard it a million times and you’ll probably hear it a million more – drink more water!

Think about it: The human body is 72% water. A 5% drop in fluids creates a 25-30% loss in energy. A 15% drop in fluids causes death! At this point in time 66% of us aren’t drinking enough water, so over half the population are water deficient before anything else such as  like bad air, bad food and stress. It’s not really a difficult thing to remedy. Just drink one glass of water every half hour or so – or 10-12 glasses of water per day – and you’ll notice a huge jump in your energy levels.

Considering that we already aren’t eating enough veggies with the lifestyle we live. It’s mainly high refine sugars or high carbs meal that’s a fairly substantial problem. Nutritionists recommend five serves of fresh vegetables per day. How many of us are actually taking that advice?

A great way to get the nutrients found in fresh veggies without spending all day at stove or eating raw celery sticks is to juice your veggies. Make sure that you own a good juicer (some juicers expose vegetables to heat created by friction during juicing, which breaks down important enzymes), grab some fresh vegetables and drink your way to good health. It takes a fraction of the time (there’s no cooking involved, for one thing) and it’s convenient. You can take your juice to work and even give some to the littlies for school lunches!

Wheatgrass in particular is an excellent source of nutrition. It’s high in chlorophyll (sometimes described as ‘plant blood’ because it closely resembles human red blood cell molecules) and has over 100 elements that the body needs. Fresh fruit and vegetables are another excellent source for vitamins and minerals.

Exercise is another duty we often over look due to a lack of time, is the commonly used excuse. The thing is, exercise doesn’t have to be horribly time consuming or boring. There are plenty of options and fun ways you can enjoy exercise. Chose something that you love to do considering being active and be constant in doing it daily.

Years ago gyms usually offered weight rooms, aerobics classes and maybe a circuit training. Now you can add water aerobics, yoga, pilates, dance-ercise, step classes, weight training, cycling, and a whole range of new workout options.

If you don’t really have the time or money for the gym, or prefer to spend your mornings/nights at home, then try an exercise bike or a treadmill. I’d be lost without my treadmill – I set it up in front of the television and easily run 3miles while watching my favorite show or listen to music.

If you’re physically unfit or struggle with an injury, and particularly if you’re also unwell, do the most minimal amount of exercise in a day. The danger is that inactivity leads to further loss of energy, which becomes a self-perpetuating cycle until you can barely get off the couch.

An excellent way to get back into a physical routine is to start slowly. Ridiculously slowly, it may seem. For the first couple of weeks, walk/ride for 5 minutes per day – exactly 5 minutes, no more, even if you think you could continue. When the 2 weeks are up, increase to 7 minutes, then 10 minutes, 12 minutes… continue to gradually increase your activity until you’re at a level that you’re comfortable with.

It may sound a little silly, but it works. After having a cesarean during child birth I could hardly do anything. I followed this simple process daily and worked my way back to running 3 miles and walking 6 miles on alternative days. So I know it can be done, we really have no excuse.  In effect, you trick your body into producing more energy. You’re building your exercise time up so slowly that your body doesn’t really realize what’s happening. Follow this method and, before you know it, you’ll be comfortably exercising within your limits every day.
